I'm particularly pleased with this one, since I took a bit of a gamble on the collar but I think it turned out awesome (not to toot my own horn or anything)!!! I've been working on it on and off for a bit so I decided to just finish it today as a break between commission work. Two issues, however: I poured layers of clear nail polish into the goggle frames to give it the look of glass but some layers were too thick and they got a bit bubbly. Also, the mane and tail aren't as smooth as I'd like because I had to mix in tube acrylics (apparently I don't have red craft paint? WTF.).
Media: Polymer clay (Sculpey Primo) on Applejack base. Painted with Americana craft acrylics and some random red tube acrylic paint I found. Goggles are filled with clear nail polish. Collar is a piece of off-white super bulky scrap yarn. Sealed with matte Mod-Podge.
I'd like to extend my thanks and give credit to the following artists and their work for inspiring this piece: ([link]) ([link]) When I saw those 2 drawings I knew I had to make a Spitfire custom in a bomber jacket. Coolness like that doesn't just come around every day.
